The single most important tool for stepping into your power

“As a man thinketh, so he is.”

- Proverbs. 23:7

I recently read a wonderful book called “As a man thinketh” by James Allen.  If you haven’t read this one I highly recommend it.  It’s a short read but it is chock FULL of deep, resonating wisdom.  In fact, I read it twice last week!

James Allen shares in depth the ideology that whatever a man thinks, he is.  Originating from a verse in Proverbs, this statement has been adapted through a variety of different philosophies and spiritual teachings.

As we think negative or positive thoughts about our current circumstances, our thoughts often lead to actions which lead to habits, which shape our character.  Therefore, we are what we think.  Your attitude and actions are directly linked to one another.

Do you believe you are too fat, too old, too young, too unworthy of pursuing your creative dream? You’re right!

However, if you believe you are in the perfect place at the perfect time to accomplish the success you know you were made for, then you’re right too!

Whatever we believe to be true, is true for us.

Have you ever had a friend who struggled with a situation perpetually, despite your attempts at giving good advice and encouragement?  Were you baffled at their complete blindness to the truth?  That’s because your friend can only believe what’s true for him/her.  They cannot believe what you believe without first actively changing their own thoughts.

This is why mindset work is SO important in the creativepreneur world!! How can you expect to become a creative, successful entrepreneur when the thoughts you believe and tell yourself are consistently saying otherwise!

Your thoughts shape your beliefs and your beliefs influence all of your actions.  What thoughts are you holding onto today that you need to let go of?

Are there habitual thoughts that are holding you back from living the life you desire?  What do you need to do to begin changing those thoughts now?  Perhaps you need to implement a mantra, do some journaling, or hire a professional to help you uncover these detrimental thoughts.  I know I thought I had all the positivity – but as it turned out, I had dozens of habitual creative blocking thoughts that were keeping me small, frustrated and stuck in circumstances I didn’t enjoy.

I was the sum of my thoughts!  I am still the sum of my thoughts.  In fact, the main thing that changed for me in 2018 was not that I struck it rich, nor landed a new job, nor hit 6-figures in my business.  The only thing that changed was my thoughts!  Months’ worth of intensifying thought-shaping has transformed my life and my business more intensely than any of the courses, classes and webinars I’ve ever taken over the years.

That’s because your mindset is the foundation for everything else you do creatively.  You may be the best writer in the world, but if you believe you’ll fail, guess what – you’ll fail!

What happens if you believe yourself to be incapable and yet you find yourself in a lucky streak of success? Well, as Gay Hendrix suggests in “The Big Leap”, your thoughts will ultimately win over and sabotage your success. It’s called an upper limit problem (more on that later.)

If you want to get serious about crafting success, passion and abundance into your 2019 endeavors, I suggest you start with the foundation – your thoughts.  The words of wisdom James Allen wrote in 1903 are as true today as they were back them.  This is how you transform your life.
